Wow, I would give this zero stars if I could. I have never posted a review for anything, but people have to know what they are getting into at this place. I have been going here for years, paid out of pocket for two root canals, a couple thousand dollars total. I recently returned to get a crown put on, after having the root canal treatment 8 months ago, and explained to Dr. Mallenger--whom I had grown to trust, respect and genuinely like--that for months I had been experiencing jaw and neck pain. In the last few weeks, the pain was worsening and spreading, but I was unsure if it was related to the tooth. We find out that due to crooked roots, he perforated the canal when filling it 8 months ago and I had developed a painful infection of the jawbone. Only option was to extract it. They didn't charge me for the crown or the extraction (umm duh) but refused to reimburse me for the failed root canal. I understand dentists make mistakes, but I expected they would take responsibility and show some integrity by reimbursing the $1500 I paid out of pocket, since I have missed work, lost my tooth, and am managing an extensive infection. Also, I came to find out Dr. Mallenger did not record the perforation or ensuing infection in my chart. The business manager, Tim, had to go find out from the dentist what happened. When Tim called me to tell me their decision, I found him totally insensitive to the situation and it was clear he is there to deter any complaints against the clinic (his job, I know). He continued to maintain I signed a consent form, there is nothing I can do about it. I am terribly disappointed in Dr. Mallenger. I trusted him, and assumed he was a good man, someone with integrity. I assumed he would do the right thing, the honest and compassionate thing and reimburse me for HIS MISTAKE--at the very least--considering the cost of the root canal was simply labor cost. Instead he hides behind a vague consent form that protects him from taking responsibility for negligence and life changing mistakes. I never blamed him for the perforation for the root canal, I didn't blame him for the terrible infection that grew over 8 months, and I didn't blame him for all the time I missed work due to these events. I blame him completely for how this is being handled. I will never come here again and will tell anyone and everyone about this place, so no one else has to go thru this. And I'm really bummed, because I loved this place and the people who work here.
